Every organization strives for employee satisfaction, but many find it difficult to succeed in doing so. Human resource professionals must understand their employees well enough to increase and maintain employee satisfaction within the workplace.
1. Respect:
Employees rate respect above all other factors in a workplace. There should always be respect amongst managers and employees, employees and other employees, administration and other office staff.
2. Security:
Employees want to come to work every day knowing that their jobs are not at stake. Managers should always keep their employees in the loop in the case of any event.
3. Pay and Benefits:
It is the industry norm that employees want to be compensated based on their contributions to the company. Compensation is beyond just their base salary; it's essential to review benefits and ensure they align with the needs of the employee
4. Career Growth:
Employees typically feel satisfied with their jobs if there is room to grow in their roles and daily tasks. Employees are likely to want to take on new tasks and challenges or do the same job for a year.
5. Healthy Environment:
Employees want to work in jobs where they do not feel stressed, threatened by their colleagues, and forced to make immoral decisions. Employees look for non-toxic environments where colleagues and managers hear their ideas, and there is honesty and healthy debates among co-workers and open communication.
